Darqueze Dennard was a critical piece of the Michigan State defense last season. Dennard allowed the Spartans to be more creative because of his ability to play press-man so effectively. He's got average size for the position. Dennard is at his best when playing press coverage. He is excellent at using his hands to jolt the receivers off of the line. He's strong enough to redirect their routes, throwing off timing routes. Just average in run support; he could afford to take better angles. He's got loose hips; he can easily open up and run. However, Dennard doesn't possess elite top end speed or acceleration. This causes him to be more physical than he needs to be at times. Despite his limitations, Dennard will be a hot commodity for his press abilities.
